TREEO at the German Parliament’s hearing on Forest Protection and Indigenous Rights

In a significant step towards advocating for the protection of forests, biodiversity, and the rights of indigenous people, our CEO, Johannes Schwegler, participated in a public hearing held by the German Parliament's Committee for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The public hearing served as a platform for addressing critical environmental concerns, and Johannes Schwegler advocated for the reforestation and sustainable management of forests in the face of global challenges such as climate change and deforestation. He stressed the importance of empowering and respecting the rights of local communities whose livelihoods are intricately connected to the well-being of the forests.

Following Johannes’ participation in the public hearing, the delegation embarked on a journey to Indonesia, where they visited some of our project areas aimed at conserving the region's precious natural resources.

During the visit, the delegation  focused on understanding the local environmental issues and exploring ways to support and collaborate with local communities and stakeholders to foster sustainable solutions. The visit underscores TREEO's commitment to corporate social responsibility and its dedication to making a positive impact on the environment and the people who call these regions home.

At TREEO we remain committed to promoting sustainable practices, fostering environmental conservation, and respecting the rights and dignity of indigenous people worldwide. As we continue our journey not only in Indonesia but also in Uganda, we are committed to these values to provide climate solutions that benefit local communities as we provide transparent climate products to our customers.
