Introducing TREEOmetrio: The World’s First Premium Carbon Dioxide Removal Integrating Tree-Level Monitoring with Advanced Biodiversity Analytics

In a Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) that is heavily scrutinized for credibility and transparency, TREEO and biometrio.earth have joined forces to set a new quality standard with TREEOmetrio - the world’s first premium carbon dioxide removal (CDR) credits that combine data-driven single-tree monitoring with cutting-edge biodiversity analytics.

Our approach sets to deliver science-backed, verifiable, and multi-dimensional impact with unprecedented transparency and integrity.

Why TREEOmetrio CDRs are premium and why that matters

One carbon credit usually represents one tonne of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions that have been reduced, avoided, or removed from the atmosphere. Any additional impacts, such as increases in biodiversity, are usually inferred or not evidenced with sufficient data. TREEOmetrio changes the equation by integrating high-resolution environmental intelligence - one tree, one ecosystem, one community at a time.

TREEOmetrio uses TREEO’s computer vision digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (dMRV) system to track each individual tree’s growth, carbon sequestration, and real cooling effect over time. Going beyond estimation, every tree is geo-tagged and monitored using science-based models in the TREEO App. The result: verifiable carbon sink data with full traceability, certified under the Global Tree C-Sink Standard.

Tree monitoring using the TREEO App

Through biometrio.earth’s AI-powered COMPLETE biodiversity analytics solution, TREEOmetrio integrates acoustic monitoring, wildlife cameras, and remote sensing to assess the species-level, structural, and functional aspects of biodiversity. The outcome is a holistic, spatially-explicit evaluation of ecosystem condition, delivering metrics on species presence and richness, habitat complexity, and ecological resilience.

This does not only deliver transparent and scientifically rigorous impact metrics but also helps to achieve high tree survival rates and healthy ecosystem conditions. Continuous single-tree and biodiversity tracking enables adaptive management to maintain and improve ecosystem resilience in the face of climate and anthropogenic pressures. With full engagement of local communities, not only in planting and maintaining trees but also in biodiversity monitoring, our inclusive approach enhances local ownership, livelihood support, and sustainability into the future

Solving the ex-ante CDR challenge

Ex-ante CDR - issued in advance of carbon removal taking place - are a powerful tool to fund reforestation and restoration. But they come with inherent risks: uncertain tree survival rates and outcomes, delayed benefits, and lack of transparency.

TREEOmetrio addresses these head-on:

  • Rigorous data from day one: CDR buyers access continuous, scientifically validated dMRV data - from tree growth to biodiversity gains - beginning at the planting phase.
  • Radical transparency: Stakeholders have direct access to project-level data via the TREEO Impact Storyboard and biometrio.earth’s nature analytics dashboard.
  • Built-in risk mitigation: With continuous data on every tree and biodiversity, TREEOmetrio minimizes risks of underperformance, double-counting, and reputational exposure.

Our work has already begun in Uganda, with two project areas, after a successful pilot project in Java, Indonesia (reference to pictures & animal videos)

  • Albert Nile – Murchison Falls Ecosystem
  • Alice Obel, where tree planting has officially started, along with the deployment of biodiversity sensors.

These sites are real-time case studies of what TREEOmetrio offers: measurable, verifiable, and visible ecosystem regeneration backed by community stewardship

TREEOmetrio’s approach also sets a new benchmark for accountability and scalability in the voluntary carbon market. By leveraging advanced digital tools and open-access dashboards, every stakeholder from project developers to corporate buyers can track the progress and impact of their investment in real time. This level of visibility not only builds trust but also empowers buyers to make informed decisions, ensuring that each credit purchased is directly linked to tangible climate and biodiversity outcomes. As regulatory and market expectations continue to rise, TREEOmetrio’s transparent, data-rich methodology positions it as a frontrunner in the next generation of nature-based solutions.

Looking ahead, TREEOmetrio is poised to expand across diverse landscapes and ecosystems, adapting its technology to local conditions and community needs. By fostering partnerships with local organizations, research institutions, and governments, TREEOmetrio aims to amplify its impact, scaling up restoration efforts while generating robust, science-backed data to inform global climate and biodiversity policy. As the world seeks credible solutions to the twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss, TREEOmetrio stands ready to deliver measurable, lasting, and equitable benefits for people and the planet.
